Help Dana’s Daughters Go to School After Surviving Genocide
United Kingdom
My name is Malia and I am fundraising for my friend and Arabic tutor, Dana. She is the mother of three daughters aged 13, 12 and 8. Dana and her family were forced to evacuate Gaza, under heavy bombardment and dire hunger, due to the ongoing Israeli genocide. They left with nothing: their home in Gaza was completely destroyed and many of their loved ones were killed.
After escaping, they passed through Egypt and eventually reached Turkey. Life remains a daily struggle; between the language barrier, lack of income and citizenship, and the grief and trauma they carry. Most heartbreaking of all, Dana’s youngest daughter, Tala, who is 8 years old, has not been able to attend school at all. Dana’s 12 year old daughter, Mira, was injured in the genocide. Shrapnel tore through the fingers of her hand and doctors had to take a skin graft from her thigh to cover the wound. Because of this graft, she cannot move her fingers properly and now needs reconstructive surgery to be able to complete simple tasks like holding a pen and writing.
Dana’s greatest wish, like any mother, is to give her girls stability, access to education and the chance to build a future. We are urgently seeking £10,000 to cover the costs of enrolling all three daughters in school and Mira’s surgery. Every donation – no matter how small – will go directly to Dana’s daughters’ futures. If you can’t donate, please share her story so others can help. Thank you for standing with Dana and her family.
